What I Provide...
The most important thing when caring for infants, is a flexible but consistent routine with one consistent provider. Infants thrive on knowing who and what to expect. Because I am their world when you can’t be, observing and getting to know them individually allows me to respond respectfully, understanding their developing uniqueness.
Maintaining a consistent but flexible daily routine leads to healthy, happy, trusting, self-assured infants who generally aren’t fussy unless there is a good reason (usually hungry or tired). We have a peaceful rhythm here, which babies thrive in.
Almost as important as my role caring for your infant, is my role helping and teaching parents with the inevitable questions, concerns and struggles of your baby's first year of life. Feeding, sleeping, crying...I can help you with all of it! I strive for a partnership approach to your baby's care.
Finally, I provide everything your baby needs here...diapers, wipes, formula (if applicable), food, and all necessary equipment and supplies. All you need to bring is the baby!
What to Expect each day...
A Joyful welcome hug!
Lots of self-directed play with high quality materials (important for self-motivated learning and imagination)
Simple circle times with greetings, learning songs and rhymes
Age-appropriate activities (sensory, small & large motor activities)
Reading (short periods between 5-10 minutes, 3 times/day)
Outside play or walk (except in exceptionally cold weather)
Music (singing songs, playing simple instruments, listening to different genres of music, plus First Steps in Music
Curriculum for Infants in the First Year)
Very limited time in devices that limit mobility (walker, swing, infant chair, etc)
Baby signing and vocab in the context of what we are doing (ex: before bottle..."milk please" said and signed)
Private monitored nap rooms with black-out curtains and white noise machines
A detailed Daily Sheet covering your baby's day (in addition to texts and pictures when possible), and a face-to-
face update at pickup time. I really love connecting with parents!
