After over 60,000 hours of direct infant care with hundreds of babies, I comfortably consider myself an infant behavior expert.  Your pediatrician is your baby's medical expert, but I have thousands more hours of direct observation of, participation and practice in the direct daily care of infants, as well as a 4-year nursing degree (RN-BSN) and many hours of infant growth and development education.

As a result of this education, experience and observation, I am convinced that Respectful, Responsive and Relationship-based care with consistent providers (you and I) in a safe and nurturing home environment is the foundation of a healthy infancy and early childhood.  The best start with loving caregivers is crucial.  My partnered approach means you and I make care decisions together that best fit your child's needs.

I have experience as a nurse and teacher in an early childhood development (daycare) center, and while there are potential advantages of center care (oversight, cooperation among teachers, vacation coverage), in my experience the problems with group or center care far outweigh the advantages (low education, low experience, low pay, high staff turnover, persistent illness and bright, loud communal nap areas).

Having been in both environments, I truly believe the experience here is something you won’t find in a childcare center!
